Game 152: Padres at Pirates

Morton and Ross tonight at seven.

The Bucs are one game back of the Cards with 11 games left, which is a longer way of saying now is the time to WIN.

  1. I believe Fort Duquesne was originally constructed of beer barrels. Padres and their damned Maddux-Glavine-Smoltz trio of pitching power...

This Ross kid has some wicked stuff.

Yet another time for throwing a telephone pole on the field.

Or for a long distance telegram from the Island of Dr. Morneau.

  12. Gawd that was PAINFUL. Pedro contributed by throwing to the wrong base. Run #1 was dead to rights at home, and the DP attempt was a shot in the dark. Melancon probably not as good as Tony Watson (never thought I would say that) as closer now. Cutch did all he could. We will see a steady diet of curveballs for the rest of the year until we adjust. At least the Braves are helping us back into the wild card game. Lotsa Reds games coming up. We play better under pressure I guess...bad week to stop drinking...

  13. A whole new flavor of PBC torture. Denorfiaed. Offense appears to have been taken line dancing with David DeCastro. Horrific dogshit call on Pie out at second. Maybe Lambo can take out these usually-camouflaged m*&#&@f(*@&s? Melancon needs some rest. Tabata has one of the hottest bats of late, why bench Hasabata and have Marte do the Grilli-style do-your-rehab-assigment-LIVE-DURING-THE-PENNANT-RACE! And John Buck over also-hitting-well Tony Sanchez if Martin needs a break? 11 games left there's no time to bench better players at this point. Jeez already over here. Is the Beer Fort on fire?
