Since the Pirates don't play in the hottest of cities, you'd think that scheduling more home games in April and September would help the team draw crowds. Who wants to go to an April game when the evening high is set to be 55? It may also help the pitchers to avoid injury. And it would definitely help the team to avoid having to play so many doubleheaders: day games are less likely to get rained out than night games, for obvious reasons.
