It looks like it might be 10pm before the rain gets out of the area. With the thunder I wonder if they'll outright cancel. Oakland might be able to come back to make up the game on August 5.
Finally, some RUNS. Missed those. Listening to Oakland broadcast, sounds like there's very few people at the game. Travis, hope you don't get your eye bunted out. Liriano's dealing.
An interesting night, as we started off waiting right at the entrance of the squirrel hill tunnel 20 minutes for the night construction crews to set up around 9pm (a rain delay, then a tunnel construction set up delay, wonderful).
We gave up the ghost at about midnight and left the game.
Just glad to see my whipping boy Snider banished from the lineup permanently hopefully.
The "WOOs" were driving my wife and I nuts, can't stand that crap and it was adding salt to the delay wounds of our night.
Public display of Bucco glory last night. Late start allowed for the game on the BIG screen at Foster's Coach House. Goth Steph bartending, watching Tabata rake doubles whilst Sisters of Mercy blared on the sound system. 5-0 proper spanking. Liriano is THE MAN, but I still don't like his first name.
I will also be pacing myself and attending the game tonight.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I assume with all the water, the game will not be starting at 7pm EST, but rather closer to 7pm PST.
The probability of a boatrace inside and outside the stadium is also rather high I would assume.
I can only hope to see some hardcore BUNTing tonight and station to station baseball.
If I witness BUNTing a runner from 2nd to 3rd in person, I may pass out from excitement into the raft I will be carrying with me.
I'm also worried about the weather. Good thing the beer fort now has hovercraft mode.

ReplyDeleteI wish they would cancel the game, however, I think the start time will by 9:30 EST which is perfect timing for my young son and my family.
ReplyDeleteNote to self, this is why you never buy advance tickets no matter the discount.
Wait till you kids are drinking age, much more fun for late starts.

What is this lead thing you speak of?

ReplyDeleteRecent #1 pick Sonny Gray "not a real big kid" making his debut here. Starts with 96 MPH heat.
ReplyDeleteNice gesture by the A's - let Sonny Gray debut against BarmeSTRIKEOUT.
ReplyDeleteA's announcers hating on the "woo" Ric Flair crowd nonsense.

Woo's very annoying. Tabata shirts on the clearance rack in the club store, premature perhaps. Stuck it out till the end, back to Iowa today.

ReplyDeleteCards lose, Holliday pulls a hammy, Reds lose, Petey added to the All-Star Game Home Run Derby. Today was a good day.
